Speaking of Caernarfon: here is a photograph of Meinir Llwyd Jones from the William Mathias Music Centre receiving a certificate on Camac's behalf from Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas AM. The event was the Culturestep reception held last November by Arts and Business Wales, to celebrate their strategic funding partnership with the Welsh Assembly Government.
Arts and Business is an imaginative Britain-wide organisation, who provide information and advice for organisations seeking private sector partnerships. Culturestep is a programme Arts and Business Wales have developed to encourage businesses to invest in the arts. Sponsored by the Welsh Assembly and the Arts Council of Wales, it is a matching funding scheme where, if an organisation can find a certain amount of business sponsorship and present a convincing application, Culturestep will provide a pound for every two or three pounds of sponsorship money provided by the business partner.
Camac was the business partner of the William Mathias Music Centre when it came to presenting an application to Culturestep, to gather funding for the Second Wales International Harp Festival in Caernarfon last year. Fortunately, the application was successful: a happy example of how sponsors can join forces to the benefit of all concerned.
