Friday: the question of the month

Last month's question seasonally asked for the names of harp pieces about the spring. Everyone who wrote in, without exception, named the Spohr variations on "Je suis encore dans mon printemps". To be fair, I can't think of another answer either. Anyway, the first three to name Spohr all got a fabulous FREE DVD.


Time flies, spring quickly turns to summer, and every three years - for harpists -  that means the excitement of the World Harp Congress! 2011 welcomes the eleventh WHC, in the great city of Vancouver in Canada.

As April approaches, question of the month is full of the joys of the warmer weather, budding crocuses and happily tweeting birds that all resurface at this time of year. Please send me the title of a harp work, solo or chamber, that is about the spring in some way or another!

Friday Question of the Month

We're beginning to run out of DVDs showing Jakez playing jazz harp in Moscow, so question of the week is now question of the month! 

Last month, I asked where the MIDI harp can be found for its next project. It is, as you can see in the video I posted on Monday, the IRCAM in Paris. Harpblog will be posting again about the music that is being written for the MIDI harp as part of this exciting project.

This month, win a DVD by sending the correct answer to the following question to harpblog@camac-harps.com. Camac's commissioned or sponsored the commission of at least five new harp concertos over the last few years. Other than the recent MIDI concerto, please name one.
