As you'll know if you watched our vlog about Deborah Henson-Conant's rock tour with Steve Vai, or if you have been following Deborah's Rock Harp Diaries, not only did Deborah find herself in an entirely new musical landscape, but nobody gave her any music with which to navigate it. She made the harp arrangements for the tour herself, in collaboration with Steve Vai and her band colleagues.
Deborah is now back home and running a four-week online course (actually, it's five weeks, there is a FREE BONUS WEEK) in arranging for harp.
You can read all about the course here. In a nutshell:
- the course is for all skill levels
- it is specifically aimed at "fun, inventive solo harp arrangements", very useful for all sorts of performance situations
- it also aims to provide a particularly clear overview of the fundamental concepts behind arrangement. You can’t learn every arrangement technique in a month (although the course will obviously teach you as many it can in the time). But if you can grasp how to go about the essential business of arranging, then you’ll have – to quote Deborah – "a structure to support all the other techniques and skills you develop, as you continue to grow as a musician for the rest of your life!"
Deborah is kindly offering Harpblog readers $50 OFF THE COST OF THE COURSE IF YOU REGISTER BEFORE THE END OF JANUARY 9TH, 2013!
When you register, type in the secret code to get your discount. The secret code is...Camac. Clever, eh? But not as clever as you will be, once you have completed the course.
HURRY HURRY HURRY, WHILE PLACES LAST!
